Bath Stars Shine on Bristol Lawns
Sunshine, but a chilly wind greeted Bath’s Intermediate League team for our visit to Bristol on Saturday 9 June. The lawns were in superb condition, evidence of the serious money the Bristol Club invests in their maintenance. The morning went very well with Bath winning the doubles and both singles, all by small margins to put the visitors 3-0 up.
The afternoon was characterised best by a supremely confident performance by Hester Henebury who overpowered her opponent 26 – 8 to secure an excellent win and overall victory in the match for Bath. David Perkins lost narrowly on a golden hoop finish by -1 on time, and Bath lost the other 2 matches to complete a 4-3 away win.
So the Intermediate team have played two matches so far and yielded two victories!
