South West Federation Leagues Round-Up

As all the block games have now been completed below is a summary of the very successful season for the clubs’ various teams.

AC Parkstone Trophy – The club entered this advanced AC league for the first time in several years. They competed in division 3 and won all 4 of their matches. The team are promoted to division 2 next year.

AC Federation League – The team won the North division winning all 5 of their matches. In their semi Final they beat the South division winners Winterborne Valley (also unbeaten) 4-3. They will be playing the unbeaten North division winners Garway in the final at Bristol on 22nd September.

AC Intermediate – The team finished in 2nd place in the North division with 3 wins in their 5 matches.

AC B League – This league is intended for newer higher handicap players. The team finished 5th in their division but gave debuts to a number of players during the season.

Short Lawns (Open) – The Bath team were unbeaten with 3 wins and two draws in their 5 matches. This gave them first place in the North division on count back from Bristol. They will be playing the final against Nailsea, at Nailsea, on 21st September.

Short Lawns (Restricted) – The clubs’ team won 3 and drew 1 of their 4 matches to finish top of the North division. They play in the final at the Rec on 29 September against Camerton & Peasedown (South division winners)

GC Level – The team competed in a very competitive North division with 4 of the 5 teams finishing within 1 point. The team finished equal top on points with Cheltenham but by virtue of a better average hoops per game in the drawn match against Cheltenham came out in first position. The team have been promoted to the Premier division next year.

GC 5 + Level – The team finished second in the North division with 3 wins and a draw from their 5 matches. This put them 1 point behind Swindon, who Bath beat in their only loss of the season.

GC Handicap – The team finished in 4th place in the Central division and finished on a high winning away at previously unbeaten division winners Camerton & Peasedown A.

GC High Handicap – The team gave debuts to a number of newer members during the season. They won 2 and drew 1 of their 6 matches. Two of their losses were against NW division winners Llandaff, who were last years overall champions in this league.
