Success for GC Handicap Team

The Clubs GC Handicap team entertained Swindon at the Rec for the first league match this season, held on a day of constantly changing weather and clothing depending on the extent of cloud cover and a chilly wind! Both Teams were well matched, in terms of handicap, and the matches were played in a friendly and supportive spirit! By the lunch break we edged to a match lead of 7.5 to 4.5. After our ‘Bath Team Talk’ and a glass of non-alcoholic Gin & Tonic we felt refreshed and focussed on the hoops for the afternoon session. Great teamwork, with everyone supporting each other, and clearly the lawns were playing in our favour as we ran out with a brilliant 13.5 to 6.5 match win! The team members were Sally Helvey, Lyndon Hughes, Anwen Owens, Sue Andrew, Clare Fletcher, Miriam Bolger and captain David Veal who all contributed to the teams winning score.
