Bath at the top of the Short Croquet League tables
A second comfortable win, this time 11:5 against East Dorset (away) on Sunday 15th August, finds the team from Bath heading the league table as potential winners of the Southern block in the new SWF Short Croquet League.
This time we were without Paul Francis, because he was running the area heat for the All England GC that day, but Alex Hudson nobly stepped up to join the team again, playing as an AC12 handicap. His place as one of the two high (AC16+) handicappers, alongside Martin Alabaster, was taken by Ninette Flowerdew.
The whole team played exceptionally well. Alex won all four of his games again as we’d hoped, Philip de Glanville won three, and both Martin and Ninette won two games each. Sadly Winterborne Valley have since conceded because of their on-going difficulty in fielding a team of four against us, so the last match in the group stage will be away to Taunton Deane on 1st September.
