Annual Dinner and Trophy Presentation

The clubs annual Dinner and Trophy presentation took place at Lansdown Golf Club on 30 October and was attended by 45 members/partners. Club Chairman Andrew Willis presented trophies to the winners of the various internal season long club competitions and announced the winners of the various one off competitions during the season. A full list of the winners is detailed below. There were also a number of awards presented which are decided by the clubs committee. The Garrard Trophy for most improved player went to Richard Stopforth and Philip de Glanville received the Nick King Trophy for the most improved newcomer. The Captains Cup, which is presented to the member contributing most in the season to the success of the club in South West Federation leagues, was jointly awarded to Norman Connor and Folke Pope who both formed part of the successful Federation League team as well as other club teams. A special award was also made to Hester Henebury for her huge contribution, in particular for coaching and mentoring the beginners and improvers, during the season.

Andrew also congratulated the Federation League team, captained by Paul Francis, on winning the competition for the first time since 2005. This win entitles the team to take part in the Secretarys Shield, a national Croquet Association AC competition, next year.
