Successful and Sunny Open Day
The Open Day on Saturday 9th May was a great success. The weather was fine and sunny and over 35 visitors turned up. The visitors enjoyed playing some basic croquet and were encouraged to take part in a number of fun competitions. As a result of the day between 14 and 20 people signed up for the Beginners Course. Hester has subsequently advised that she now has 25 enrolled on the course.
The results of the competitions held were as follows:
‘Shove-halfpenny’ Visitor Lorne Loxterkam
Member Hester Henebury
‘Hit the peg’ Visitor Susan Prescott
Member Tony Curson
‘Run the Hoop’ Visitor Lorne Loxterkam
Member Richard Jelly
The proceeds of the day, from refreshments and games donations, resulted in approximately £150 going to Dorothy House Hospice.
Thanks to those members who turned up and helped with the Visitors.
