“Bath Salts” Nearly Make it a Double at Nailsea Short Croquet
The Bath Salts represented us in Div 2 on the Sunday. The team was spear-headed by Roger Hayes (2P), ably supported by Neil Pinker (2.5) and Nigel Dawson-Cocks (3) who has rejoined the Club this year, after an absence of four years, while he went back to his native Cornwall. He hadn’t played at all for two years but showed no evidence of rust! The 4th member of the team was team captain Philip de Glanville (2.5), who had intended to be there as non-playing captain but was drafted in at the last minute.
The team did well against opponents from Nailsea, Kington Langley, East Dorset and Camerton, emerging with 10 wins out of 16. This put the team one win off a place in a penalty shoot out to gain promotion to Division 1 next year.
