Annual Presentation Dinner
On Saturday 14th October members attended our Annual Presentation Dinner held at The Bath and County Club.
On arrival we were warmly welcomed by Gill and then settled into comfy chairs in the bar for pre-dinner drinks. When all members were present we took our seats in the dining room, were treated to a delightful meal and as coffee was served we began the presentations.
The dinner celebrated the conclusion of a tremendous season of croquet competition played between April and September. Pete Miles had organised the schedules with his usual attention to detail and winners of both Association and Golf Croquet tournaments received their silverware to great applause.
In addition to the presentations for competitive play, the Nick King Cup was presented to Andy Wagstaff. He had been nominated to receive the award, by the Committee, as the season’s most improved player (for members in first two years) and for his continued development across the season.
Our final presentation acknowledged a member who had been nominated by the membership to receive the Norman Connor Award. The award recognises a member who has contributed significantly to the success of the club. Pete Miles was nominated by members for his continued work to arrange matches for the Club’s nine teams within the South West Federation leagues. Additionally, Pete is responsible for the promotion and meticulous organisation of internal Club competitions for which members wanted to show their appreciation.
