Last match of the season resulted in a draw for Bath and Weston super Mare GC HH teams.

With good weather and lawn surface running well after the rains over the summer, a promising start for both teams as an alternate win and lose sequence was established.
Weston super Mare’s team of five had handicaps of 8 and 9, whilst Bath’s six players ranged from 8 to 12.
Robust play was demonstrated by Bath’s Kate New and Valerie Stanley, making excellent use of extra turns where necessary and winning 3 each of singles and doubles. However, Weston’s Rene Morgan proved a formidable opponent and won all her singles games against Bath. The score at lunchtime was 4/4.
Seven games in total went to golden hoop, and as the second half was drawing to a close the possibility of a draw was imminent. The match was rounded off by a win by Bath’s Katie Rhodes-Chadder, then followed by a win by Weston’s Paul New.
The final score was a draw at 10/10.
