Rain did not stop play for Bath GC HH match v Camerton and Peasedown resulting in a surprise draw.
Arriving on a cloudy, damp morning, and playing on Camerton’s four full lawns, the day began well for Camerton with some swift wins in doubles and singles during the morning. Their 5 player’s handicaps ranged from 8 to 14 to Bath’s 5 players 8 to11. By lunchtime Camerton were well in the lead. The prospects of Bath losing were on the horizon.
The afternoon commenced with a steady rally for Bath. Despite heavy rain affecting how the lawns were running, both teams played with determination. Bath’s mood became more buoyant, with clear wins coming from Pam Burgoyne and Valerie Stanley. The penultimate game played out with the deciding score resulting in a draw for both teams.
