Charity One Ball Competition

On Sunday, 23rd April, members gathered for the Bath heat of the national annual charity One Ball event. This year’s charity is the UN Refugee Agency. We were lucky with the weather, having glorious sunshine for much of the day.
We were able to use three lawns, so had the maximum entry of 12 players playing 6 games each in a Swiss tournament format.
The winner was Brian Owens with 5 wins and 77 points, runner-up was Tony Jackson with 4 wins and 75 points, Sue Duncan was third with 4 wins and 73 points.
Everyone played well and it was an exceptionally close contest, with 50% of the games being won by only 1 or 2 points.
It was excellent to see a mix of GC and AC players enjoying the day, with the winner being a ‘GC only’ player.
