February Success at Hamptworth

Four club members travelled to Hamptworth on February 12th to take part in the February GC Handicap Tournament. Anwen Owens started off her morning games with a 3-3 draw including a lengthy detour via wrong hoops. This was followed by two wins to top her morning group placing her in the top group for the afternoon’s play. The other three members Sue Duncan, Paul Francis and Margaret Murray (representing Kington Langley on this occasion) faired lees well in the morning and found themselves in the same group for the afternoons play. Anwen continued her fine form in the afternoon with three more wins, two of which went to golden hoop, to win the competition. Anwens handicap reduced to 8 as a consequence of her days results. Margaret and Sue had similar records in the afternoon with two wins each with Margaret coming out ahead on hoop difference 5 to 4 to top their group.
