Bath’s Dynamic duo seal a fine win at Cheltenham

On the back of their recent success at Budleigh Salterton, it was no surprise to see Peter Miles and Andrew Willis secure two victories each in the Advanced League match at Cheltenham. However all four games were closely fought and much credit should go to the Cheltenham players who really pushed Peter and Andrew to the very end of each game.

In the morning the doubles of Philip de Glanville and Roger Hayes struggled to ever create any momentum although Philip made a valiant effort to snatch victory in the last turn.

In the afternoon, Philip was involved in another tight match but was pipped by two hoops by a late run of hoops from his opponent. In the final singles of the day, an out of form Paul Francis was defeated by 10 hoops.

Despite this, Bath secured a 4 -3 win and go on to play a strong Budleigh Salterton tam at the Rec on Saturday.
