Intermediate Team complete the season with a 5-2 win at Bristol.
The intermediate team travelled to Bristol CC for its third league match of the season. Everyone arrived in good time, in fact the lawns were still being mown, and were warmly welcomed by Bristol’s captain, Chris Frew.
With the admin completed the morning play commenced with a doubles game and two singles. Lynne and Tony got off to a promising start against the partnership of Anthony Rackham and Chris Frew but the accurate roquets, at distance, from Chris and solid break building of Anthony eventually led the opposition to a victory of 17-12 on time. Conversely, Henriette won her game against Mike Chan with her excellent tactical approach and Martin, in his first Intermediate match, played with confident accurate roquets and hoop runs to claim a win from Linda Shaw.
The afternoon singles matches saw three further wins for Bath giving a final score for the day of 5-2 to Bath. This result saw three teams joint winners of the Intermediate league on matches won, Kington Langley, Worcester Norton and Bath. Who beat who failed to provide a winner and unfortunately in the final reckoning of game difference Bath came out in second place. The team have thoroughly enjoyed the games played and look forward to improving their league position in 2022.
