Success in the Intermediate match played against Kington Langley
We were given a very warm welcome by the team at Kington Langley but the skies were heavy with rain falling and umbrellas were strategically placed to give some cover during the games.
Tony Curson in his seasons debut for the Intermediate team partnered Tony Jackson for a doubles game on lawn 1. Their partnership was successful and they finished their match with a 20 to 7 win. At the end of a morning session of three closely fought matches Bath went to lunch with three wins.
There was still all to play for as the team stepped onto the lawns for the afternoon session of four singles matches. As matches saw the lead sway from one side to another the outcome of the day was difficult to call. By 5 o’clock the result was 3 games all and a win for Bath was reliant on Tony Jackson taking a win in his game. In the final moments of the game his opponent, Jane Hull, had a run of hoops to challenge Tony’s lead but on time he held his lead to win 22-11. This gave Bath a 4-3 win on the day.
