GC Handicap Team Away at Nailsea

Bath GC Handicap League team played our first away match for 2 years against Nailsea Croquet Club on Tuesday 29 June. The two six-strong teams battled all morning in fine weather and by lunchtime the scores were level. In the afternoon, fortified by our non-alcoholic G&Ts over lunch, our team crept ahead with more close games. Despite some good wins by Nailsea, we proved the stronger team on this occasion and with the match went to us, Bath 12 – Nailsea 8.
It was an enjoyable day with a great team spirit with everyone playing their invaluable part in our win. We look forward to our next match now.
The winning team consisted of Sally Helvey, Lyndon Hughes, David Veal, Clare Fletcher, Miriam Bolger & Pat Bellham.
