Charity National One Ball
With the resumption of play following the relaxation of Covid restrictions the club held their first competition of the season at the Rec on Sunday 5 April. This was an internal tournament heat of the charity National One Ball Competition, this year in aid of the British Heart Foundation. Twelve players enjoyed a day of croquet in socially distanced surroundings and many wore something red to reflect the charity’s main colour. The winner was Alex Hudson, who only joined the club in late 2020, winning all five of his games. Richard Jelly finished in second place with Andrew Willis in third position. A total of £150 was raised for BHF. The club are entitled to send two players to the National One Ball Final which is taking place at Surbiton on 9 May.
