Federation Team reach Secretary’s Shield Semi Final

The Clubs Federation AC team has reached the semi final of The Secretary’s Shield. This is a national CA competition between representative sides from each of the regions. Bath are representing South West Federation through winning the Federation League last year. The QF was away at Watford. The morning session, on very tricky lawns which favoured the home side, resulted in a 2-1 lead for Bath. The doubles pair of David Prescott and Paul Francis won +21 and Philip de Glanville won his singles +13T. Come the afternoon David won his singles +18T but Paul and Philip both lost their singles matches with the match result depending on Folke Pope who won a close fought contest by one hoop after time to give Bath a 4-3 win.

In the semi final the team will play Sheffield at Kenilworth on September 8th.
