High Handicap Team finally complete their match at Cheltenham

The GC High Handicap team visited Cheltenham for their first match of the season on 17 May. The weather was atrocious with heavy rain and standing water on the lawns and the game was abandoned at lunch, although many thought it should have been stopped sooner, with the score 6.5 to 3.5 to Cheltenham. The second half of the match was held on 9 June with much better weather and a better performance from the Bath team. Richard Mills won both his singles matches and Brenda Gray and Pam Burgoyne each won one of their singles. Pam also combined with Kate New to a comfortable win in their doubles match. The final score was 11.5 to 8.5 in favour of Cheltenham.
