GC Central South Team Return to Winning Ways

Bath’s GC Central South team finally got back to winning ways last week with a convincing home victory against Dowlish Wake.
The first round of doubles held no indication of what the day had in store. The first match was lost and Pam Burgoyne and Bob Hart only managed to snatch half a point with a hoop in extra time for a draw.
Bath then took a grip on the match, winning 7 of the 8 morning singles to lead 7 ½ – 2 ½ at lunch. Isn’t lunch so much nicer when you have a lead?!
The afternoon followed a similar pattern, with the doubles shared and the home team victorious in 6 of the 8 singles.
Gordon Cottis, Philip de Glanville and Bob Hart finished the day with 100% singles records. Peter Machin completed the team.
