Narrowly beaten in Nailsea Short Lawns
The club had two teams competing in Division One of the South West Short Lawns at Nailsea last Sunday. The cold and extremely windy weather made playing conditions difficult.
We narrowly missed out on winning for the second year running. After three successful rounds, winning 10 out of 12 games, Bath ‘B’ needed to win two of the four remaining games to win the title. Unfortunately only Richard Stopforth with a 100% record all day won meaning Trendlewood Nailsea snatched the title 12-11. Phillip de Glanville and Paul Francis recorded three wins each. Bob Hart in the final round put a real fight before losing by just one hoop. A case of if only!
The Bath ‘A’ team consisting of Peter Miles , Hester Henebury, Norman Connor and Leonie Wilkinson were less successful finishing in fifth place. Norman Connor winning three of his four matches.
