Internal Competition within a Competition at Hamptworth in December
Four members of the Club took part in this months Golf Croquet tournament at Hamptworth last Sunday. The event was of a noticeably higher standard than normal with several low handicap players from throughout the South of England being entered. In the morning round robin matches the four were drawn in separate groups with each winning two out of three of their games. This resulted in each placing second in their respective groups and being drawn to play each other in the afternoon session. The outcome was a series of friendly but highly competitive games. On this occasion Tony Curson came out on top beating all three of his colleagues to finish in an overall 5th position. After a number of closely fought matches Miriam Bolger, Norman Connor and Paul Francis each won one game during the afternoon to take the next three places.
