Bath Business Croquet Raises £600 for Dorothy House
The inaugural Bath Business Croquet Championship raised approximately £600 for Dorothy House Hospice.
Twenty Eight teams took part in the friendly but competitive tournament at The Recreation Ground on 15 July. The weather stayed fine and good food (kindly donated by The Boater) and drinks were enjoyed by the Competitors. The initial pool matches were followed by a knockout competition for the highest scoring teams. In one extremely closely fought semi-final Stone King edged out BLB whilst the Bath Recreation Ground Trust beat Burningham & Brown in the other. The final was again a close contest with the Rec Trust narrowly beating Stone King to win the ‘Old Peg’ Trophy. A separate “Hit the Peg” contest was held and the winner was Yvonne Brunton of Dorothy House.
The Club would like to thank all teams for taking part so enthusiastically and for making the event a success both for the Club and for Dorothy House. It is hoped to see them all back next year.
