GC Handicap v Bristol
The second match of the GC Handicap Central North league, at home to Bristol, was played on 11 May. A good start in the initial round of 2 doubles and 2 singles which was tied at 2-2 was unfortunately not the precursor for a good performance by Bath. Round 2 which consisted of 4 singles was lost by the significant margin of 0.5-3.5. Round 3 was tied but there was to be no fight back from Bath as Round 4 was lost 1-3.This meant that Bristol had already reached 10.5 and effectively won the match. It was no consolation to Bath to tie Round 5. The final score being 12.5 to 7.5 in favour of Bristol. The difference between the two teams was that Bristol had two players who were on fire and did not lose any of their games.
