Bath Back to Winning Ways
Bath welcomed Weston-Super-Mare to the Rec on Thursday and a hugely enjoyable day in the sunshine was had by all. Thacher Alexander was undoubtedly the star of the day; the moustachioed maestro ended the day undefeated, all the while reminiscing with the opposition about their school days. Peter Machin equalled this impressive feat, ending the day with four wins out of four. Lyndon Hughes, John Burgoyne and Gordon Cottis all contributed to what turned out to be a rather one-sided scoreline and even the Captain, Andrew Willis, managed to win his two singles games despite a very penal handicap. W-S-M were excellent company throughout the day and could not have been more graceful in defeat, the final score being 14.5 to 5.5 in favour of Bath.
