Mary Rose 4-3 win over Nottingham
Bath beat Nottingham 4-3 in a closely fought contest played on neutral ground at Cheltenham on Sunday 12th July. The final deciding match between Dennis Graham (Bath) and Gordon Hopewell (Nottingham) did not finish until 7-45pm!
Earlier in the day Peter Miles was the star performer for Bath winning his morning singles +23, and also his afternoon match after being pegged out by David Brydon (Nottingham). Miles was rewarded with a handicap reduction to 4.5.
In the morning Ian Lewis and Dennis Graham (Bath) won the doubles by 5 points after a 5 hour marathon with Lewis playing an excellent last turn. Bath will now play Cheltenham in the next round.
