Richard Jelly wins Bath Autumn Salver
Local member Richard Jelly won 6 games out of 6 this weekend to record his first tournament success, winning the Autumn Salver, and reducing his handicap from 16 to 12 in the process.
The tournament was expertly managed by Roger Hayes, with shortened games of 2.5 hours time limits to enable a 6 round Swiss. It included 6 local players, whilst the other 10 competitors came from as far afield as Manchester and Poole!
A big thanks to Bob Whitaker for being Tournament Referee and for setting the hoops every morning, and to Leonie Wilkinson and Audrey Whitaker for helping with the tea.
See the Bath Chronicle article on 13 September for more details.
