Novices Triumph for B League
July 5th 2024
Fielding 2 novices and 1 player who had played only 1 representative match the B League team was up against 3 experienced WsM players and 1 newcomer.
In the morning Tony Jackson + Barb Frieda lost the doubles. In the singles George Plumbly lost narrowly by a golden hoop and Gary Thomas won comfortably. At lunch we were 1-2 down.
Tony duly gave the team a pep talk. Reinforced by return of Sue Duncan the team won all 4 singles to end the day 5-2 victors. Many Thanks and congratulations to Gary, Barb and George keeping novice nerves under control.
